Phnom Penh, August 6 – Khmer Enterprise (KE) officially launched its Export Market Development Program during an event aimed at supporting Cambodian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in expanding into international markets.
Held on August 6, the event brought together key stakeholders to provide detailed information about the program, which is designed to equip export-ready enterprises—or those planning to export—with technical knowledge, logistical know-how, and access to financing.
Among the prominent participants was the Cashew nut Association of Cambodia (CAC), which delegated two of its member companies to attend the workshop. CAC’s involvement highlights the importance of the program for agricultural exporters and reflects a broader commitment to enhancing Cambodia’s presence in global trade.
The workshop served as a platform to promote awareness of the economic benefits of export and to outline the program’s implementation roadmap. It also emphasized the need for SMEs to develop business plans, even in the absence of full financial statements, in order to qualify for financing from institutions such as ACLEDA Bank.
The event drew a diverse group of attendees including representatives from the Chamber of Commerce, development partners, business associations, banks, microfinance institutions, compliance consultants, transport companies, and SMEs.
In addition to financial support, the program offers technical training on export procedures and logistics, helping enterprises navigate the complexities of international trade. Logistics companies with specialized skills also participated to share insights into best practices for efficient and compliant export operations.
The Export Market Development Program reflects KE’s ongoing mission to foster entrepreneurship and support Cambodia’s economic growth by strengthening the capabilities of local SMEs on the global stage.
