ampong Thom, August 8, 2025 – The Cashew nut Association of Cambodia (CAC) held a business matching (B2B) meeting with representatives of Khmer Enterprise (KE) on August 3, aiming to strengthen linkages between agricultural communities and the private sector.
During the meeting, CAC representatives expressed strong appreciation for the opportunity to engage with KE and explore collaboration possibilities. They emphasized the value of such initiatives in directly connecting cashew farmers and agricultural cooperatives with processing factories and companies. These connections could significantly reduce reliance on middlemen, increase value-added opportunities for farmers, support local storage and processing, and contribute to the stabilization of cashew nut prices in Cambodia.
Key topics discussed included potential non-repayable financial assistance (grants) from Khmer Enterprise to existing processing plants, along with guidance on the application process and strategies for accessing funding. CAC also highlighted the need for capacity-building workshops, specifically on business planning, financial reporting in line with banking requirements, food safety standards for processing enterprises, and training for entrepreneurs interested in launching processing businesses.
Khmer Enterprise, a government-backed initiative under the Ministry of Economy and Finance, plays a vital role in supporting Cambodia’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem. KE provides a range of support services, including grants and funding, training programs, mentorship, networking, and market access support.
By fostering partnerships with local and international stakeholders, Khmer Enterprise continues to promote the development of a vibrant and competitive private sector, with a strong focus on SMEs, startups, and innovators across the country.
