Phnom Penh – A delegation of seven prominent British companies is set to explore significant business opportunities in Cambodia from February 9 to 15, 2025. This ambitious initiative will target the rice, cashew, and dried fruit industries, establishing vital connections between British enterprises and Cambodia’s top-quality agricultural products. Funded by the British Government through the UKTP Business Partnership Program and implemented by the International Trade Center (ITC), this mission will bring British companies together with agricultural producers from Phnom Penh, Battambang, Siem Reap, and Kampong Thom.
Mr. Escipin Oliveira-Gmez, Director of the International Business Center of Enterprise and Institutional Competition, emphasized that this mission will revolutionize business interactions and improve livelihoods. It will enable direct communication between British buyers and Cambodian agricultural producers, fostering a comprehensive understanding that strengthens trade relations between the two nations, all in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals.
Participants will visit some of Cambodia’s leading companies and cooperatives, gaining firsthand insights into local production capabilities and quality standards. A dynamic business networking event hosted by the British Embassy in Cambodia will connect British buyers with local suppliers, including key representatives from the Cambodian Rice Federation and the Cambodian Cashew Nut subsector.
The UKTP Business Partnership Program, managed by the International Trade Center (ITC) and funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, is poised to facilitate robust trade between developing countries and the UK. This program capitalizes on the advantages of the UK’s Economic Partnership Agreement and Business Scheme, driving meaningful economic growth and collaboration.
